Sometimes a new chapter in our lives means we are now in charge of taking care of ourselves financially. For whatever reason, women are finding their way back into the workforce and for some women – for the first time ever.
But when there is a lapse in employment history or not having worked at all, landing a job can be challenging. So what do you do to make money even if you don’t have experience? If you’ve been stressing over your financial situation, I’m here to help.
There are plenty of companies who, instead of hiring part-time or contract employees to do the work, they are seeking the help of at-home workers to complete smaller jobs. Which means opportunities for you to make money from home no matter what your skill level is.
I put a list of five ways you can make money from home even if you don’t have any work experience. I’ve included some places for you to look to give you a head start on your search.
#1 Typing Jobs
Even if you’ve never had a clerical job, if you’re texting and socializing on social media, chances are you have an average typing speed which is anywhere from 30 to 35 wpm.
Here are some sites to find typing work:
To work on your typing skills, check out typingtest.com for typing tests to test your speed and accuracy. When your typing speed and accuracy improves you can find work as a transcriptionist. But if you really have serious typing skills, you can work as a closed caption reporter.
#2 Sell Your Handmade Crafts
Many women are taking their hobbies and turning into a thriving business. They make and sell all kinds of products like printables, custom shirts, homemade jewelry and other accessories.
If you’re crafty, consider starting an ecommerce store to sell your crafts. You can sell your products on these sites:
#3 Be a Virtual Juror
When I learned about the opportunity to make money from home serving on virtual juries, my first thought was that it was a scam. But when I did the research it turns out virtual juries are legit.
Serving on a virtual jury works the same way as serving as a juror in your county. An attorney presents their case and you review all the evidence that was presented to determine whether a defendant is guilty or not guilty. Sounds interesting, right?
Here are some places to check out that are in need of virtual jurors.
#4 Research Jobs
One thing we’re always doing when we’re online is research. We’re either looking for clothes, shopping for cars, a dentist, hair salon, searching for jobs or other information we need.
You don’t need experience but you should know your way around different browsers and be familiar with research tools.
Here are some places to find research jobs:
First National Acceptance Company
One Legal Online Court Services
#5 Sell Your Pics
Finally, you can make money from home selling your pics. Look through your old photos and submit them to sites like the ones below. Be sure to edit your photos (adjust exposure, brightness, etc.) before submitting.
Final Words
The suggestions I shared here pay on a project basis. It will not replace a salary. And the amount of money you make is going to depend on how much work you do and how much you’re paid.
If you are looking for something more long term and with an hourly salary, you can search for traditional work-from-home jobs on my blog.
